Artprinting Easy Peasy – Painting (not only for kids) with Artist Bodo Korsig

Experience the IRT Föhren on 21^st. August 2011! We cordially invite you to create your own monotypes together with the internationally renowned artist Bodo Korsig from 14.00h to 17.00h in our printing plant. You will draw your image on wooden plates which will then be pressed onto printing sheets using a historic press. When your individual artwork has dried you can take it home.

Bodo Korsig focuses on sculptures and experimental printgraphic. He has been exhibiting since 1992 in more than 100 Galleries and museums such as Tokyo, Berlin, Los Angeles, New York, Auckland, Bejing, Chicago, San Francisco, Barcelona, Palma, Copenhagen, Paris, Prague, Luxembourg, Milan and Kyoto to name a few. He has received international awards and scholarships and is represented in more than 40 museums and/or public collections.

New Calendars for 2011

We offer two new wine calendars for 2011. Our traditional wine calendar for 2011 combines “Exotic recipes with German wine”.

In addition we also created a new calendar presenting for each month a unique cartoon focusing on specific German wine expressions. These images are also available as postcards or coasters.

The heading of the cover story already promises excitement based upon glossy varnish and surface feelings (“Durch Glanz und Haptik werden Druckprodukte zum Erlebnis”). The detailed article focuses on state-of-the-art varnishing possibilities available at Bastian in order to increase appreciation of print products. Furthermore this editions’ cover was not only printed at Bastian but also finished with a special relief UV-varnish inhouse.

New edition of Paperazzo magazine with multiple varnish mady by Bastian

The cover of the actual edition of Paperazzo was produced by Bastian Druck.

The respective cover story “Nachhaltige Güte” of the magazine does not only explain in detail the production of the cover, but also identiefies the numerous possibilities at Bastian Druck to varnish print products and hence upgrade them.

Der Druckspiegel focuses on the advantages of the new finishing machine at Bastian

The march issue of „Der Druckspiegel” (www.druckspiegel.de) focuses in a detailed article about the advantages and the wide range of finishing varieties available at Bastian since the implementation of the new combined flexo-screen press from Steinemann (Hibis 104) one year ago.

Bastian once again in a leading position

The fact that two of only 40 Heidelberger printing machines implemented in Germany for offset printing without alcohol are located at Bastian in Föhren – which is another proof that the printer is emphasizing on environmentally friendly production – was reason enough for Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG to invite the head of production, Gerrit Schneider, to an open discussion to the druckforum 2010 on 23th of January 2010.

Successful Design Forum at Bastian in Föhren

„Excellent print products and sustainable mediaproduction“ was the focus of the first Designer-Forum at Bastian in Föhren on October 30^th 2009.

About 30 creatives followed our invitation and listened attentively to the two presentations. The first one was held by Christian Kaiser, managing director of friends of Gutenberg who’s focus was on sustainable print products. Starting up with a definition for sustainability, the ecological footprint, the current climate situation he closed up with the conclusion: we should be able to produce excellent premium quality, good in respect of content print products conforming to Sustainability.

After a short break it was on Rüdiger Maaß, managing director of f:mp and specialized journalist in the printing industry to focus the audience on “Chances of successful print-communication via Value Added Printing” which are – amongst others – the importance of the acquisition of the right target group as well as 6 important key facts:

Develop visions

Create events

Initiate enthusiasm

Install relationships

Uniqueness

Emphasis on sustainability

Following these theories, there was a live demonstration of two different varnishes at our new Steinemann/Hibis 104 finishing machine which awoke lively interest at the participants.

In terms of sustainability and with regard to the positive feedback received, we are planning future events of this kind.

First Design Forum at Bastian

Commitment to excellence in print products as well as sustainable media production are our motifs and therefore the focus of our first inhouse design forum.

Rüdiger Maaß, managing director of f:mp and expert journalist for the printing industry will give a lecture on “New aspects in finishing print products”.

Christian Kaiser, managing director of Friends of Gutenberg will explain the meaning of sustainability for print products.

Eventually there will be a live demonstration at the new finishing machine Steinemann/Hibis 104.

This is a service event by Bastian and is intended to inspire art directors to create excellent high quality state-of-the-art print products with a surplus value – also for the environment!
