Quality, innovation, and sustainability –
for over 100 years.
We are an owner-managed, medium-sized printing company with around 65 employees located in the Föhren industrial park near Trier. Our roots lie in a long tradition, our future in innovation and sustainable action.
We develop customized, comprehensive solutions for our customers in all areas of print production—with the highest quality, flexibility, and personal service. State-of-the-art technology and a constantly updated machine park ensure first-class results.
Sustainability is a matter of course for us: we produce in accordance with FSC guidelines and offer climate-neutral printing. In this way, we work with you to send a strong signal for the protection of the climate and the environment.
Yours sincerely,
Nico Rudolf Kessel

Environmentally conscious printing –
with responsibility.
Sustainability is an integral part of our work. Our goal: to avoid, reduce, and offset environmental impact.
By carrying out all stages of production at a single location, we avoid unnecessary transport and reduce CO₂ emissions. Modern machines, innovative color measurement systems, and optimized technology significantly reduce energy consumption, waste, and pollutants—up to 30% less energy consumption. We are proud to announce that, thanks to optimization measures, we now consume 64% less electricity than in 1997.
We now completely avoid the use of isopropyl alcohol and have also massively reduced the use of chemicals in printing plate exposure. Since 2017, we have been powering our entire machine park with 100% green electricity.
In this way, we combine the highest print quality with active climate and environmental protection – for the benefit of our customers and future generations.
Climate-neutral printing in
collaboration with ClimatePartner.
Despite avoidance and reduction measures, CO2 is emitted during production. To offset this environmental impact, a CO2 footprint is first calculated for printed products and the emissions are then offset by purchasing CO2 emission certificates.
CO2 certificates usually relate to clean energy production facilities in developing and emerging countries. Many see this as a form of indulgence trading.
However, it is the third most sensible solution after avoiding and reducing CO2 emissions. BASTIAN was certified as climate neutral back in 2007, and with the measures taken to reduce internal CO2 emissions, the contribution to be offset – leading to climate neutrality – is also decreasing.
